We are recognized as the volunteer organization of innovative project management professionals. We provide value to our stakeholders and the community at large. We promote the development of project management as a benefit in all industries.
PMI-OC Mission Statement
We promote project management by providing services, tools and knowledge to project sponsors, project managers, team members and the community. We provide a forum for networking and opportunities for social interaction.
PMI-OC Three to Five Year Goals
- Maximize Stakeholder Value – We will enhance the value of our chapter products and services offered to individuals and businesses to attract and retain members and business partners at a rate consistent with market trends.
- Strengthen Volunteer Organization – We will improve the way we recruit, manage, and recognize our volunteers to attract more volunteers and to achieve our goals more effectively.
- Run the Chapter Like a Business – We will enhance our chapter infrastructure to more effectively manage and operate an organization of this size.
2005 PMI-OC Objectives (Strategies to Achieve Our Goals)
- Define and differentiate stakeholder value by identifying analyzing and prioritizing stakeholder needs. We will define value goals for stakeholders and implement features to offerings that reflect value goals.
- Implement organizational performance measures and processes by defining metrics and success factors. We will develop supporting processes, standards and reports and regularly measure performance against metrics.
- Support members' project management career development by enhancing existing services to support member skill set development. We will build employer and recruiter relationships to provide career opportunities and networking opportunities to members.
- Enhance the volunteer program to increase participation and satisfaction by defining and communicating volunteer opportunities. We will increase and enhance volunteer recognition and improve the volunteer management processes.
- Implement a new Board of Director structure by defining a supporting infrastructure. We will mobilize required supporting resources and will enhance supporting capabilities.
- Build brand recognition of PMI-OC in Orange County by educating stakeholders and enhancing existing offerings and establishing new offerings.

- Conduct stakeholder analysis of needs and participation to improve membership value and offerings (Owner: Marketing)
