New Proposed Chapter Bylaws-Passes
The new Bylaws were ratified by 94% of the voters and representing 20% of our membership. Under these Bylaws, the 2009 election will elect 5 new board members for a total of 6 Board of Governors for 2010. The sixth Governor is the Chair Elect, Stephen June who will serve as the President of PMI-OC in 2010. However, three of the elected Governors will serve only a one-year term, including Stephen June who as the current Chair Elect will be the new President. The other three Governors will be elected for a two-year term. In each subsequent year three Governors will be elected, each serving a full two-year term. It is our intent that this staggered election process will improve continuity for future Boards. With results of the elections in December, the holidays in does not allow for an effective transition period. Due to the significance of this change, we are moving our Board turnover to March 31st. With an additional three month period, we can do a much smoother transition.
We now move into the next phase of this effort: The nomination and eleciton of the 2010 Board of Governors. All PMI-OC members are eligible to serve on the Board of Governors and can be either self-nominated or nominated by another member. The Nominating Committee consisting of Greg Scott, Doug Lada and Corneluis Fitchner evaluate the nominees based upon the abilities, professional experience, previous volunteer activities and their demonstrated willingness to be a part of the PMI-OC Board of Governors. The Nominating Committee proposes a slate to the membership based upon careful evaluation of the nomination applications and candidate interviews. Attached to this document is a high level organization chart showing the Board Governor positions.
